Lately I’ve been finding myself working on designing my book covers more and more. I have a habit of finding a photo or an element of a picture that I absolutely fall in love with and just have to incorporate into my art. It can be a person or a donut or a flower, and I never know what I’m looking for until I see it, but once I see it that’s it. I’m automatically shooting designs off in my mind and taking it to my Canva program to put it into action!
Today when I went to create a new video for my Booktok something happened to me that has never happened before. Or at least I’ve never noticed it anyways at least. I went to go into my creator portal and suddenly a pop up appeared saying that I had gotten a certificate. So I clicked on the fancy pop up and was excited to find a certificate congratulating me on making over 200 designs so far!
Who knew I had actually made that many designs? And that’s not even including all the cool pencil drawings and sketch pad art that I’ve been creating lately! I’m astonished to say the very least! I feel like I have really accomplished something now! I went from totally terrified to have my work seen by even my closest friends to posting it publicly for the whole world to see and gained a little more confidence with each and every step. I was even convinced to participate in NaNoWriMo this year! I didn’t finish my goal but I did learn so much useful information and meet so many kind and inspiring people while I did it! I’m forever grateful for the experience and felt so much more prepared to write my series after I did it.
When I go back to the beginning of my Canva designs and see the progress I have made I am so amazed with what a difference a year can make. I have learned so much and have become so much more comfortable in my own skin through my creative journey. I’ve found my niche and am starting to find my own style as well.

I want to thank you all for being here and supporting a small artist/blogger in achieving her dreams! Without every comment, follow and page click none of this would even be possible and I am truly grateful for every one of you! It may be nothing to some people but every time I gain a new follower or have a new comment to respond to I get super excited and I love responding to each and every one of them.

Between chatting about all the great new releases to learning about the newest design/blog programs I don’t think you guys realize how much you mean to me! I’ll have to set up a contest for something to show you guys how thankful I honestly am! I feel like I have found my people and a real spot in this amazing community of book lovers and artists combined. 🎨 I’ve never really met anyone else who creates that lives near me, although I guess I’ve never really put myself out there to do that either, and to see that there really are all these wonderful artists and creators actually existing out there in the big old world is so inspiring to me! 🗺 I have even found some authors and artists that do live near me! 🏡 And of course I support them as best I can by buying their artwork or books on my kindle or sharing their posts and pages! 💻 💖💻.
I ❤️love❤️ supporting local and indie artists🎨 and writers 🖊 as I feel that we are the ones working hardest to make it in this crazy industry, doing our own ads, self publishing, opening online storefronts and learning all the ins and outs of our trades either on our own or through each other! So to each of us small businesses each comment, like, follow or simply a share means the world! 🌏💖🌏

So here’s to another year of creative journeys and accomplishments! Cheers to all the small businesses who work hard every day to be able to do what they love to do 🥂 I am so proud to be apart of this amazing community! “Let’s give ‘er hell guys” as my boys would say! 🥂
